This is the revolver S&W needs to build ... [added info - Post 17]

I had a M44C non-ported with a 3" barrel - Talo special run is all I could figure out... not cataloged... sold it to a very good friend... I kept my M450-Ultra Lite in 45LC... great lil-BIG gun... 20 ounces of mini fun... never an issue...

That 450 is very cool!

What I called endshake earlier isn't really endshake, it's more like cylinder play in the cylinder stop slots, and there's no excessive wear, so I'll just assume my expectations were higher due to my S&W love but this is just as tight as a Taurus comes from the factory.

Went with this holster. It's gonna double as my DAO K frame snubby holster so the strap placement should be perfect. I'll report back.

I think it was around 1997 when "Handguns" magazine had an artice titled "Little Big Bore" about these Taurus'. After reading that, I had to have one. I picked-up a 445 in 44 spl. I'm not even sure what I did with it or who I sold it off to to buy "the next gun". I still think of that article and kept that magazine for a long time.

Recently I decided I needed a small concealable trail gun. A local shop had a Glock 29 SF (10mm) & a ported Taurus 415 (5 shot .41 mag). I opted for the Glock. But the Taurus haunted me, so a few days later, I went back and bought it.

I've been pleasantly surprised by it. Action/timing/accuracy is right on, and it's actually proven itself to be a quality little gun. And I love these grips that Hogue makes for it.
