Ahhh, the Rottweiler! While not normally a "viscious" dog, they usually have a strong willingness to protect their turf and "pack". The story the OP posted is surprising however unless the dog felt the guy was just too crazy or not a threat to deal with!

Here's a neat little video made by some people I know in the Ukrane that breed and train Rotties. I'd bet good money that this big boy would have something to say about a nut being in his yard! Several of my dogs have come out of this kennel over the years and they all had / have a strong working drive.

Worked with a fella once called "dog bone". Story from him was that he was getting "frisky" with the "missus" and his sweet Pit Bull puppy was close by and noticed some enticing movements he needed to investigate. Long story short, explaining to the paramedics how his manhood came to be severly chewed earned him that handle. Gotta love a puppy, but puppy's and "friskiness" do not mix. I've got bad news for you, a 9mm won't "knock someone down". Neither will a 40, 45 ACP, 44 Magnum, or even a 500 Magnum. They are HANDGUNS, not Field Artillery. If you really want to "knock someone down" I would suggest a Buick, with a good head of steam a Buick will knock anyone down.

BTW, a 9mm will put a world of hurt on someone and if will placed can stop their hostile intentions. However, if you expect to see someone flying backwards through a door you've been watching too many movies.

I read in the news today that a homeowner in Miami shot a naked intruder who was trying to choke his pet Rotweiler. The report is that the naked dude bit the dog and then tried to bite the homeowner. Who then shot his worthless butt, hitting him in the leg. Police say drugs may be involved. YA' THINK?
