I read in the news today that a homeowner in Miami shot a naked intruder who was trying to choke his pet Rotweiler. The report is that the naked dude bit the dog and then tried to bite the homeowner. Who then shot his worthless butt, hitting him in the leg. Police say drugs may be involved. YA' THINK?

Read this this morning. its on drudge. This story illustrates why I opted for the 9mm as opposed to say a 22 mag or 380. Sure a well placed shot will knock down anything but a man on meth or whatever busts down my door, I want the fire power to knock him down. I guess I could have gone bigger but I wanted my wife to be able to handle it. And I felt like anything bigger was pushing it for her.

I've got bad news for you, a 9mm won't "knock someone down". Neither will a 40, 45 ACP, 44 Magnum, or even a 500 Magnum. They are HANDGUNS, not Field Artillery. If you really want to "knock someone down" I would suggest a Buick, with a good head of steam a Buick will knock anyone down.

BTW, a 9mm will put a world of hurt on someone and if will placed can stop their hostile intentions. However, if you expect to see someone flying backwards through a door you've been watching too many movies.

I have four, had 12 over the years. You wouldn't want to be a salesman or an unexpected intruder on my land. Man or beast, you'd be toast, an I'm not stretching the truth. 3 Males and 1 bitch, all males over 150 lbs., the little girl at a mere 110 lbs., best thing next to the three Dobermans keeping me company in my shop crawled up by the heater. Those are my "lap dogs".

Mrs. Flatfoot has her Pit Bull at her feet and remarkably, he bosses the entire crew come sleepy time. Needless to say, we don't jump when we hear a "bump" in the night. That Remington 870 12 ga. she sports let's me sleep without any worry. Dog's....hell they're just pets! I wuz thinkin' I could buy a new BMW Sport Coupe or a new Corvette for what it costs me for dog chow, but the old one's will have to do. Sleep is important to old farts like me.
