Guys, go take a look at the suicide gun under Smith Wesson 29 on GB! Take a close look at the pics! I don't know what to say, and that doesn't often happen to me.

Not enough info.........

OK, it's morbid and sick to say the least, but I don't see anything strange about the pics.

Some people seem to have their brain in their posterior region and it would also seem as if suffocation from sitting on it while watching soap operas or reality TV has definitely taken its' toll. What a gross act of negligence.

Ok - yes this is judgmental . . . . but it's my personal opinion and we make value judgments every day about a number of things . . . .anyone maintaining they don't . . . . well, there's a word for that. The whole thread is predicated on getting a reaction based on people's judgment of the way the item is being offered.

This ad ?
No class, not taste, no discernment, no shame, no common sense . . . like a whore trying to make a dollar. Pandering to the lowest common denominator. It's not like the poor tortured owner was famous and there is any historical value to the piece.

My take ? The spotted conditions (from blood contamination, no doubt) made the seller believe that the only way to get his asking price out of the gun was to advertise the sad and sick history hoping someone with a macabre sense of collecting would pay for it. Pictures of the evidence box and labeling are tacky and of low degree.

I for one take notice and choose not to deal with this individual/shop in the future no matter what he sells. I'm sure that won't hurt him one bit, but it makes me feel better identifying and avoiding someone with those kind of business scruples and moral discernment.

Buying it would not bother me in the least. Anytime a person buys a used gun there will be a history behind it. The widow of the man put it up for sale on consignment and she knows the history of the gun.

As to the rust, it can be cleaned.

I would buy the gun if it had a four inch barrel.

I think most are discussing the way the gun has been advertised, not particularly about the worth of the gun itself. And I attach no superstitions or anything about what the previous owner did with it. Just saying the sales pitch is extremely tacky.

Its a lame marketing attempt to squeeze more $$$ from the sale. No different than a low budget car salesman tactic.

After a good friends brother-in-law commited suicide , I brokered the disposal of his fairly large gun collection , including the pistol he used. I purchased it myself and kept it for awhile , as I was honest about it's history to other potential buyers , who promptly lost interest.

Thank You!

My point exactly!

This your chance to own a nice SW 29-2 with a very interesting past...

Wonder if that is how the widow would have described it? What a despicable marketing ploy.

Well, whaddaya know?...It would have to be Wade's Eastside Guns that's listing the gun, wouldn't it?

I know this place. These guys are so arrogant, they think their excrement doesn't stink.

If Wade's was the last LGS on earth, I'd use sticks and stones for self-defense.

"This your chance to own a nice SW 29-2 with a very interesting past..." How is that a selling point?

I cant think of a graceful way of wording that one.
it is a need to know piece of information as it is a blood contaminated piece. As such it comes with a few liabilities if ever it goes to a lab while in your charge, however unlikely that might be.
even worse and more likely, is the possibility that suicide was its former owners response to learning he was HIV positive.
it needed to be addressed and there's just no elegant way to do so.
I cant crucify the seller for disclosing that detail as rough as it may be. I can, however, like most others here, roll my eyes at the total disregard for class in which some points where addressed, such as not obscuring the name of the soul who last used it, and was unable to clean it thereafter
