If the condition merits the price, I would buy it. If you look at the online asking prices for later model marked examples (as ridiculous as those numbers are in many cases), your getting a bargain. Good luck. They are great revolvers.
I've also found I can shoot my 4" barrel Pre 18 and Mod 18-4 more accurately than the 6" K22s.
I was ahead of the downsizing curve having sold off most of the pre 64 M70 collection, a CHE Parker 20 and a few others.....then I saw and got to shoot a Parker AAHE 12 with 32 inch tubes. Only 36 made in that configuration. I suddenly was behind the curve.....BUT I have the gun and it was ordered by a Dr from Bay City MI in 1917.
Until mbrgr1 comes back with some pics, this thread needs a couple. Not 99%, but pretty nice anyway, my "pre-18" 4-screw, shipped in April, 1957. It should be reasonably close to the one in the opening post. Paid $535 for it five years ago. According to the book, a non-model marked 4-screw brings a premium. Book does not say how much that premium is. Serial # K293781. Target hammer, service trigger.

And why is it that we did not get to see this beauty?![]()
Funny thing: I had a pre-Model 17 and still have a pre-Model-18. I found that I could not shoot any better with the 6" than with the 4". The pre-18 is one of my favorite guns. My trips to the range usually include it along with a pre-23 38/44 Outdoorsman and my pre-24 Model of 1950 .44 Target. Yes, I know - I'm a lucky guy.
Since everyone seems to be showing off their pre-18, let me show off mine
Very nice, is that TT and TH?
