Thoughts on getting older

I never thought I'd make it this far. I wish I knew in my youth what I know now. I'm still a kid at heart and hope I die that way, sometime far in the future. Never quit learning, giving up on that is bad.

All the names in my little black book have MD after them.
I'm a know it all, but I can't remember what all is.
I read the obituaries in the paper every morning. If I'm not in them
it's a good day.
I remember the little granny on Golden Girls telling the others
that her bowels move every morning at 6AM just like clock work.
They all said how great that is. She said not really. I don't get
up until 6:30AM.

When I hit 70 a season ski pass at the nearest ski area dropped to $79. The next nearest ski area let's me ski for $20 per day or $99 for the season. I describe my ski ability as "advanced geriatric". Still living the dream.

Bluntly, it truly sucks but since there is no alternative that I prefer I will suffer the indignities of aging.

I'm just a 10-year-old trapped in a 71-year-old body. I love my toys, get to shoot real guns with real bullets and I still play with toy soldiers (miniature wargaming).

God has truly blessed me. I've not spent a single night in a hospital as a patient.

God bless,

I never spent a night in a hospital until after my 70th birthday. I think I spent a total of 3 nights, not sure though.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
