Was cruising some sites and found many now have stock on Plinker (ie: Cabelas). I lost count - Plinker must have shipped out tens of thousands lately. Even saw some ProMags in stock. Still waiting for S&W mags, but the good news is the speculator asking prices are dropping pretty quickly.

Also finding lots of ammo in stock, though not much has come down in price. There's even some .223 at "rational" prices (ie: 50 cents a round for American Eagle) given the irrational $1 a round numbers we've seen. Lots of 9mm out there, some .22LR, though the price is still ridiculous.

Things feel like they are settling down.

I'm seeing more stock (ammo and mags) as of late, too. Both locally and on the web. It can still get snatched up quick, but at least there's more to be had more frequently. Hopefully, it won't be too long before things get back to a sense of normalcy.

I'm curious, where are you seeing "lots" of 9MM?

I've have a list of websites that I check multiple times a day, and the only thing I see rarely popup is very expensive defensive ammo. Admittedly I skip over that because I'm looking for range ammo, not self defense ammo.

My LGS was basically wiped out a couple weeks ago, and now have several AR's for sale, and this Monday had several pmags for sale, although at $60 ea. Still can't find 15-22 mags.

I would say that people have either run out of cash or maxed out the CC before saying the panic is dying down.

Yes, certain firearm accessories are coming down slowly from insane prices, yes they are slowly coming back in stock and staying there just a little longer.

The main thing is ammo is still being gobbled up at lightning speeds. And for the most part, still at insane prices.

The panic is not going to die down much until probably mid summer and maybe not then if the King is able to keep gun control in the media.

Then there will be the panic of 2014 for the mid term elections and most likely the panic of 2016 when, most likely, either Hillary, Cuomo, or that crazy guy Castro or whatever his name is, wins the White house.

I quit buying once prices started getting crazy. For $60. I want 4-30 round PMags not 1.

Our LGS have kept with-in reason and cut back on how many could be bought at one time. Esp. to strangers looking for ammo.

Once the "Newbies" figure things out (All 65,376,373 of them),things will get back on track again. It's just going to take longer this time around. It's going to jump up and down like a pogo stik for awhile yet.

I walked into my local Academy Sports on Monday and they had a large amount of 9MM ammo as well as 40cal 45 and 22long. I was only "allowed" to purchase one box per cal so I walked out with 100 rounds of 22long and 50 rounds of 9mm.

I'm looking high and low here in TN for 15-22. Several places have them on order in bulk at prices that seem fair ($440 - $490) range. I'm looking forward to actually getting my hands on one.

There is virtually NO 9mm, .40 barely, or .45acp in ball loads in my area...if it is found...it disappears almost immediately... same for .22lr.

Now defense loads and hollowpoints, little boxes at $1 per round...they are out there all day long.!!!

Cheapest 15-22's seen lately, have been at $539.99 for an #811033 stock #... MOE's, #811034 and 811035 have been well over $600

NO MAGS...of any kind seen here.!!!!

HTH,
Paul

22 lr ammo might be a bit easier to find. My LGS tells me he's receiving a load of CCI from his distributor tomorrow and some Federal in bulk packs the first of the week. I didnt ask about price, but hes a straight guy, so Im sure it will be fair.
I still dont need any, but its nice to hear the flow just happen again shortly.

I actually only started with this gun because it was/is the only caliber I could afford to shoot anymore. You know it's bad when 45 GAP cost less than 40 S&W.

Find ammo online but gotta be quick. My bro picked up 17k rounds in the last month and came out to be .04 cents/round. Luckily he lives/works by his computer where as I can't. I guess I got my own supplier.

You guys should move down to Texas. There's no .22LR but I've seen a lot of .40, and .45s and even 9mm. Walmart and Academy are doing a pretty good job with stock. Academy more than Walmart.

Just use ammoseek or gunbot.net and you'll see loads of 9mm. Just checked now before this response and there are pages of 9mm in stock and the best buy is 34 cents a round. Still high, but coming down. Yesterday Cabelas had 9mm below that number and at the same time there were 3 different retailers with 9mm in the 30 cent range. A week prior there was almost nothing. I think those that are gouging are going to quickly realize they are damaging their client base and will adjust accordingly. Then again, I know the smaller online retailers were buying from other retailers just to have stock to sell. So if You bought for 28 cents you had to mark it up to make it worthwhile.

local sportsmans warehouse has CCI std vel for $50/500! right down the road the ma and pa shop had cases of them for $32/500

i walked away from both.

quit stockpiling! I would think 17,000 should be enough to hold you over till someone else gets at least 500.???

I was at a gun show this weekend and there were plenty of AR magazines albeit at very high prices. Likewise there was a lot of ammo but at exorbidant prices: Lake City 5.56 @ $1.34/round.

17,000 rounds of .22LR? Really?

called my lgs he had cci blazers 19.99 a brick, 5 brick limit, me and wife went and picked up 10 bricks. he also had a few 15-22 @469.00 this was south st. louis

It must be very area specific. I live in San Antonio and I haven't seen 9mm at an Academy since last fall. I talked to a guy there this weekend and he said on shipment days (Tues/Fri I think?) they have people camping out before the store opens and all the popular calibers are essentially gone immediately.

Walmart people have said similar, although they don't know when shipments are coming in. Last time I saw 9mm was at a Walmart though like 3 weeks ago, I got lucky right after they set it out (at like 2 in the afternoon!) and grabbed 4 boxes of 100-round Federal for like $20/box. At least Walmart hasn't jacked up their prices. This was right before they put up the signs limiting the number of boxes. Lucky me!

I hadn't used those sites previously, I'll start keeping an eye on them. Thanks
