There are times when you are lucky enough to come across a gun that looks like someone stepped back 50, 60, 70, 80... years, picked up a gun at the local hardware store and transported it back to today (in RM jargon they would be "Cheely Quality"). This thread is for photos of those guns that are more than 55 years old (pre 1961), and have just been cleaned after being transported from the past. Here are a few of my favorite pre-war "time machine" guns to kick this thread off:

June 1931 Outdoorsman (Happy 85th):D:

With the tools, paperwork and box - not quite as "time machine" as the gun...

October 1936 Registered Magnum (Happy 80th:)):

38/44 Outdoorsman with HBH and Call Bead Front Sight that shipped on May 19, 1939 (Happy exact 77th Birthday:D:)):

I look forward to seeing your vintage "time machine" S&Ws:)

I can't compete with those Richard, but here are my two best. No boxes, tools or anything else.

December (?) 1943 Victory Model, Defense Supplies Corporation -- no U.S. military property marks -- a letter from Roy will confirm all this after he starts again. On to German municipal police service in Fűrth, Bavaria, after the war. A Department of the Air Force civilian employee bought it at a U.S. military Rod & Gun Club and brought it back to the USA in 1966. Appears to have been in a box in a dresser drawer for the last 50 years -- barrel looks like a mirror inside.
