Time to show off 22's!

No pictures but I do have a very nice 17-3 that I enjoy shooting. My Ruger MK .22 pistols have been getting the most use for a while . In fact I hadn't shot my 17-3 in quite some time and took it out just a few weeks ago to get reacquainted .

Only 1 Model 48??!? Ok I'll bite :) 4" Model 48-4. I fell in love QUICK!

"came your way". I am the online Smith & Wesson policeman. Send me these guns I will send you two rugers with a little cash and we will be even.
Okay? lol.
Actually i have several old six inch S&W .22s, beautiful, accurate and lovely.
I just can't believe you weren't even looking for these and they just came your way. I want to go hunting iron with you in the mountains, you would probably find gold. Great story beautiful guns.

speaking of .22s - I have a 317 Airlite (2" barrel, inherited from my brother, never fired). The hammer pull (and trigger pull) are incredibly stiff. I have had S&W .22s before (not this model) and none of them approached this pull effort. Any ideas? Is it normal? Can it be "fixed"?

At least ya kept it in the family and still have access to shoot it? Fun with the boy, I loved it when my son and I would go target shooting...

A pistol on my "buy list" is a Model 351C and I've heard the 351C has a ridiculously stout DAO trigger pull. Could be a weird thing with the AirLites.

My first .22 revolver was a Ruger Single Six with a .22 magnum cylinder. A great .22 and IMO, a classic.

My second .22 handgun and one I still have with the box and docs is a Colt Huntsman.

The photos are of my Mod. 17, Mod. 41 and Mod. 18. You all know about them and what marvelous firearms they are for pure shooting fun.

Great photos of beautiful firearms, previously posted. Well done!

August of '18 I found this beauty in my favorite shop, consignment case. 1971 17-3. Came with the original numbered service stocks but I found these targets here and they work better for me. There's a slight mar on the sideplate that to me looks like the strap from a holster but I don't know for sure, the most slightest of wear at the muzzle as well, so slight it's hard to photograph.

What I do know is that is has a wonderful action and is possibly my most fun revolver to shoot. Can't wait for the grandsons to get a bit older for them to try it, it will eventually go to their dad, my oldest son.

I always wanted a 17 but the ones I found were more than I could spend at the time. This one was mine for under $500 out the door hehe.

Wow! I love 'em all. I have a very nice 34-1 that I love to shoot.

But, the king of S&W 22's has not yet been mentioned? Allow me to show the crème de la crème of S&W target .22 caliber pistols: The Model 41.

OK, sorry. The Model 41 is NOT a revolver. I did not mean to derail the thread. :o

You can replace the springs. Wolff makes them.
"Shooters Pak - Reduced Power - Stock Number 17126 - This pak for rimfire models contains 1 each 9 pound reduced power hammer spring and 1 each 13, 14 and 15 pound reduced power rebound springs allowing adjustment for lighter and smoother trigger and hammer action. Note: Rimfire models 317, 650, 651 have a 12 Lb. factory hammer spring."
Here's a link to buy a kit or individual springs:

Probably best to have a gunsmith replace them unless you have experience in this. The rebound spring can be difficult to replace based on my limited experience with a K-frame revolver.
I bought a tool to assist in that process.
Good luck,
Art
