Well, you get the jist. :D

I love those pics Ringo. I just finished my range on my property in NM. A huge U shaped berm, 5 pistol out to 50 yds and 5 rifle out to 1000. The shooting stations are on a concrete pad with quonset hut style covering for protection from weather, two golf carts and video target surveillance so you don't need to go down to see where your shots hit.

The down side, the wife put her touch in, so while it's got great KY blue grass growing, it's also covered in purple flowers.

There's also an upraised platform for an RO and a speaker system. If and when I host formal matches, I can simply rent a port-o-let. Next week the grills are going in because you can NOT go to the range without bbq'ing.

As to Ringo's pictures, I would love to build a small western town around the range. I've already started on Boot Hill. Gonna be great.

^^^These are actual ghost towns in Texas. I think the first one might be a staged " Ghost Town" near Austin?? but the rest are real.^^^^

Hello, recently a friend needed a safe on the third floor of his house. He purchased a snap safe. Check it out!
Semper paratus

If you (and a friend) can manage to get the pieces where you need them and put together safely, the Snap Safe modular safe looks like a very good idea.

Note: Many gun safes are really not all that good at stopping a burglar who knows what they are doing. But I suspect that they would stop the average teenager with a hammer and a crowbar from doing a smash and snatch

Many years ago there was a chap who advertised plans for building your own safe in The American Rifleman. I welded mine up out of 1/4/cold rolled plate in my basement in Tacoma, WA. It was tied to the concrete floor, weighed close to a ton and was too big to fit out the door. It was also wired for power a small bulb kept it warm and dry.:D

I hope the people who bought the place are gun people, since there was no way that safe was coming to AZ with us.

Please send me your address in NM. I need to come hang with you. Rifle range out to 1,000 yards!

I got lucky here on costs. I own 300 acres of all wooded land with a nicely stocked river going through it. A bit down from me their building a housing community and trucking the excess dirt nearly 80 miles to dump. I struck a deal letting them dump it on my land in a huge U shape thereby saving them a lot of money on fuel and time. We all won, they saved a ton on gas and time, and I didn't have to buy the freaking dirt I was expecting to buy, which made the wife happy as she celebrated by visiting the Michael Kors purse shop at the outlet mall.

In all honesty, I needed a nice secluded place to shoot when I want to, I live in Virginia, and it's hard to find a good long distance rifle range. The closest to me is like 45 miles, and is limited to 300 yards.

I primarily shoot the following long guns:

1. Barrett 82a1
2. Kivaari 338LM
3. Bergara Match 6.5CM
4. AR rifles and pistols in both 556 and 308

I understand the value of a nice, quiet, place to shoot. I don't have trouble finding 1,000 yards or more here, but being able to actually see that far is challenging due to the sage brush.

As I said, I'm jealous.

My long distance gun is a Ruger Precision Rifle in .308Win with a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 3-18x50.

As much as my wife has been planning what she will buy with the life insurance proceeds, I do not heal as fast as I used to and cannot afford to be out of work - disability or no. I gladly pay the young guys to move heavy stuff and work on the roof.

I recently bought a small safe for handguns and papers that is about 90 years old. It is less than four foot square and was told they moved it with a small tractor. I brought a bigger tractor and when I started to pick it up the wife said they had to have three guys on the back end of their tractor to move it! Thanks for telling me before I came. Her husband jumped on the back of my tractor and I was able to load it on my trailer with all four of my wheels being on the ground most of the time. The thing has 1/2 inch outer plate, six inches of concrete, and another 1/2 inch plate liner. My tractor can lift 850 pounds and it is every bit that heavy. I dropped it off at a safe company so they could refurb the lock work as I want to make sure it will open every time I use it. I will put it in my garage where I can disguise it fairly well. It will also be a decoy from my main gun safes that are not as heavily built as this one. I hope any burglars send a lot of time working on it since it must be where all the best valuables are kept.

I believe in multiple moderate safes in the 600-800 pound range that forces thieves to spend more time trying to get into them rather than one safe that has everything in it.

I had a ruger precision in 6.5CM, but sold it off to get the Bergara BCR27 competition and I'm hoping it's as good as advertised.

A bit back I bought the wife a 300RUM, but after the first round she decided against it LOL.

On all my rifles I use a Shephard scope, the one shot zero out to 1k yards.
