For quite some time I have been looking for a S&W four inch 586. Today while driving home for lunch, I drove past a local pawn shop. Almost without thinking, I turned around and went back for a look see. Low and behold, in the case was a gorgeous four inch blued 586-2, serial number AZB4125. It was displayed in the case with a S&W plastic case (mis-matched). Only a slight stain from the steel strap of the Hogue grip prevents this revolver from being a flat 98-99%. In every respect, timing is absolutely perfect. Trigger is smooth. Hammer shows no scuffing, etc. on the sides. Recoil shield has no marks. There is a slight bit of soot on the top strap of the frame. I have replaced the Hogue grips with a lovely pair of S&W presentation grips which one of our fellow forum members refinished and subsequently offered as a Karma. They have for many years graced my beloved 18-3. Now they will add beauty to this gorgeous 586. Digging through my chest of drawers, I found a Bianchi 111 Cyclone holster that I bought b/c I knew one day I would find a pretty L-frame to fit it. Today was that day! Tyrone Davis once sang "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time." Well, today the hands of time have been turned back to a long gone yesteryear. If I can figure out the process, I will post pictures of this revolver. Sincerely. bruce.
