Wouldn't you know. Most dentists are closed on Friday and besides it's after five. Just started and if it don't ease off I will have to try to find someplace open on Saturdays. Even if I can make it until Monday I have to get my shot in the eye. Tuesday I have to take my daughter for a eye exam and with her eye problem she cannot drive dilated. I do have some pain medication if it gets bad enough. My teeth are like the rest of me, even with a lot of upkeep things are going downhill.

hold hydrogen peroxide in your mouth as long as you can,
if it's abcessed, eat a clove of garlic every 4 hours.
oddly, sometimes when i think i have a tooth ache, it;s really sinus n benedryl fixes it.

When I was camping a few months back I got one and the only medicine that I had available was whiskey. At home I always keep some Ambesol gel or liquid on hand. It really works and definitely tastes like cloves so that may be one of the ingredients.

Not sure if the whiskey helped the toothache but after a while I didn't care. ;)

...if you can keep some 12 year old Scotch around the tooth it may help...

...usually does for me...

I am not a big one for home / folk remedies. And I don't like to sit around suffering. My dentist has a 24/7 number and I certainly would call him if I had a tooth ache. I have had dentists tell me they would come in on Sunday if necessary. Let's see if that's true in your case.

If my dentist told me to take a hike, I would go to an urgent care facility and see if they can do anything.

Over the counter pain meds like Naproxen Sodium or Ibuprofen have helped me in the past surprisingly well. I suppose it could depend on what is the cause of the pain. I've also had some improvement with a waterpik and a little mouthwash added to the water.
