Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Train Ride. Have any one from NE Ohio been on this scenic ride and is there any really nice places to eat and stay at?

My wife and I do Mr & Mrs. Claus around X-mas and I may do some of the Polar Express since I retired which goes from Thanksgiving to close to Xmas. Remember that your ticket is good all day and you can ride the train back & forth all day. There is a schedule of the daily runs for the times they stop at different places. Plan to start in Independence and it ends in Akron and goes back and forth all day. Midway btwn Akron is Peninsula, a cute small town with 2 restaurants for food and small shops to brouse in. The Winking Lizard and Fishers both have good food. The Akron has stop an Itlian restaurant. Never been there. The people on the train can tell you if there is more. You can eat then catch the train when it comes back.

I live in Independence and there are a bunch of hotels and places to eat. I can PM my phone number to you, would be easier the typing. The train has a web site, Cuyahoga valley scenic railroad.

I do the NE Ohio bunch and the thread is in the lounge. It's Oct 1st, you can come back on that day to have S&W fun. There are 3 people coming from Philly Pa this meeting. Larry

Id love to take a train here. Last train I took, was from Konstanz, Germany to Rickenbach, Switzerland--back in 2000 to stay with my friend Jurg. That train was extremely crowded, guy next to me smelled like he took a bath in a sewer. I had to hold my nose the entire time his stench was so bad. Actually, the last train ride was from Konstanz to Frankfurt am Main via Heidelberg. That ride I had a cabin to myself for most of the ride. The scenery was fantastic and I met an older lady who was extremely nice--as well as someone related to: the Red Baron.
