Picked up a used shield performance center and the trigger has a good amount of slack before it engages. Trying to figure out the fix for it. My series one has no slack. thanks for any help. jt

I think what your referring to as slack is trigger take up. I suggest you do a search on this forum on "trigger take up." I personally did not like the feel of my 9mm Shield 1.0 trigger and switched to a Hyve trigger while the gun was still new. You might consider that or a Apex Special Duty trigger kit (better) but which is a little more involved to install.

My PC Shield’s trigger is crisper and has less travel than my std MP triggers; I personally like it as is. I have tried a couple others with changed out triggers (not sure if all were Apex) and didnt care for how they felt. But i likely am in the minority there lol.

OP, have you had the ability to check out another Pc Shield to see how its trigger compares to the used one you purchased? Just to see if yours is ‘normal’ and you dont care for it’s feel; or yours perhaps has an issue that needs to be looked into. Just a thought...

I like my PC Shield trigger. I compared it side by side with a buddies standard Shield and it most definitely had a slightly lighter and shorter take up. Is it perfect, no... but for a CCW pistol it is more than good enough for me.

my 2 cents.

DON'T DO THIS!!NEVER EVER DO THIS!!!!! NEVER MODIFY THE FIRE CONTROLE ON ANY WEAPON EVER!!

I love my Shield 45 2.0!! I did the Apex upgrade and loved it more, but still the plasticy gritty longish pull. I was fine with it, then my daughter shot it.....
I welded up the "Bent wire" sear cam area on the trigger bar, then machined the profile so the tip, slip fits into the slot and the cam ramp starts just before the sear with the trigger in the forward possession, and a profile that breaks at 4.5lbs.
It's still a bit more "Plasticy" then my 1911's but almost no creep, a solid break, with a short reset. Daughter loves it!

Like I said "NEVER EVER DO THIS"!!!!! NEVER MODIFY THE FIRE CONTROLE ON ANY WEAPON EVER!!

lol...there's always one

I personally have no problem with the PC 9mm Shield trigger. I am used to the take up and shoot accordingly since all my MP's have some take up.
My only real problem with my new PC 9mm shield is that damn grip safety! I had to file the top of it smooth because it pinched the web of my hand since I grip kinda high.
Since filing it it has not been a problem. But it is a PC gun so that should not be a problem in the first place.
