Trigger thoughts

Lots of good advise in this thread. I've got several AR's and a different trigger in just about all of them. Nothing wrong with mil-spec triggers, but they aren't going to help you put rounds in the same hole. A couple of my AR's wear mil-spec triggers that I cleaned up and they are precisely what those rifles need - a good no nonsense, reliable trigger. My hunting 6.8 has a POF drop in unit - it is good, but not great (but still way lighter and crisper than any mil-spec trigger). My SPR has a CMC drop in unit and it truly is great, I have zero complaints with this trigger.

Agree with gdogs. It all depends on use. My Sport is my SD and SHTF gun, so I want to keep the millspec trigger, especially since my Sport trigger is actually pretty good for millspec. Now my range gun I replaced with a RRA NM trigger, but for that one I am looking to punch paper holes, preferably punching the same holes so I want a trigger that is more match quality. I think the RRA tigger is fantastic for the money. It's no Geissele, but it's a damn fine trigger that gives you a clean short break.

As I have stated I think a Better trigger is the best upgrade one can do to a rifle, especially an AR. I enjoy shooting Pellet rifles and they have horrible triggers. I even upgrade their triggers by changing a tension screw. Guess my ole eyes can't hold focus like they used to. Lots of good triggers out there but I plan on keeping my AR so I want it reliable and consistent.

Having taken my milspec parts out now I can see what the hubbub is about. Saw some serious gouges. Maybe I'll take a run at polishing those pieces someday but for now I'm pretty happy.
