Triggers & Springs for the SD

I am in the look for a replacement for the factory SD9s trigger & springs.
There is Apex, Galloway, Wesbaun, Mcarbo etc.
Who has tried them & what were your results?
Did you replace the Sear Spring? Striker Spring? Striker Safety Spring? Trigger Return Spring?
Like the looks of the flat faced Galloway Boudica Trigger as my trigger finger gets pinched by the SDs trigger but my factory Shield 2.0s is fine
Going to Order these parts after the 1st of the year = NO HURRY! = 2-3 Weeks away.

I went with the Apex trigger, Galloway Precision four spring kit, NDZ extended slide lock lever (take down), NDZ SS guide rod with 20# spring, Talon grip, and Truglo TFX sights.

How many times do I have to tell you what has been tested and now works the best? I would NEVER steer you wrong.

I don’t have a high round count to act as testimony. With about 300 rounds after my upgrades there hasn’t been a single failure. My friends, that have higher end pistols, that have shot it love it. I must add that all interior metal was polished to a mirror finish at the time of installation.

I have about 1.5K-1.8K rounds thru my SD9. About 1/3 are with the APEX trigger and spring kit. The rest is with the Galloway Boudica trigger and the Wesbaun spring kit. My trigger pull is a touch under 4.75 lbs. She's a real tack driver!
I'm not knocking any other name brand parts. It's just that I have used about all of them and the BEST in my SD9 are the Galloway Boudica trigger with the Wesbaun spring kit.
I have APEX parts in my M&P's & Rugers. I also like McCarbo parts as well.

I put a MCarbo spring kit in my SD9VE. I like it.

It was not as easy as it looked in the video, but then I have five thumbs at times.

It takes a couple slave pins to do it easily

= A Glock 3/32" punch tool & a cut down toothpick for the sear spring + a roll pin punch for the trigger housing & extractor

Have deburred the trigger where it strokes for the reset but haven't gotten into the whole unit until the springs & trigger arrive next month

I too have used cut down toothpicks for my spring installs. Another item to use is a DUM-DUM sucker stick cut down.

When I removed my APEX trigger and springs I lost one of the cups that holds the striker spring. I used Glock striker spring cups. They are identical to the S&W cups. Well, the Glock cups are black, the S&W cups are white.

I haven't shot the SD9 as of Yet or the Glock 19X I'm getting for X-MAS

The SD9VE is a great pistol for its intended use.
It's an inexe,pensive, entry level, reliable pistol.
No amount of "lipstick" is going to improve it
above what it is.

I would never go to any of the aftermarket peop!e. To think that they. know better than S&W is absurd. Galloway recoil springs are
noted for destroying SD9VE frames. In Galloway
videos on youtube, their tech maintains the
SD9VE has a lifetime of 5000 rounds.. Really?
Added to the fact that any mods voids your warranty.

Yes, I have one. Yes, it shoots fine. Factory
stock. No mods needed. Its been doing what
its supposed to, for over 7000+ rounds with no
problems, stoppages, damages, or broken parts.

Take it for what it's worth. Move up to an M&P
if the SD9VE isn't doing it for you.

This is my 4th SD series firearm. I also own 7 M&P's, mostly in .40 caliber.
There is no fault in someone making their firearm more in sync with themselves. It seems like you don't approve of change? Why not? Isn't owning a firearm the right to shoot it as you seem pleased? It is for me.
Live on the edge a bit. At least add 1 mod to your SD series firearm.

If used for self-defense, I'd leave the trigger stock. I wouldn't want to explain to a prosecuting attorney why I made the trigger easier to pull.

Apex spring kit and 200 live rounds afterward produce an ideal carry trigger.

I put the Apex spring kit in my SD40 and then tested it with about 200 rounds of hollowpoints.
At the end of the trial the trigger was definitely lighter and smoother than it had ever been.........in fact.....it seemed like an ideal carry trigger.
Striker spring, trigger return spring and striker block spring were all I replaced.
Left the original trigger on and did not mess with the sear.
