Well, I have wanted a 3" 66 for some time. I don't know what happened, but the stars aligned recently, and now I am the proud owner of three: 66-2 (Ashland), 66-4, and 66-5 (Lew Horton). Now all I need is a dash 3 and I will be set :)

Anyone else have any love for the 3 inch model 66's?

Those are some great looking pieces. I also love the 3" 66
I tend to buy guns when I least expect it (when the price is just right) not when I'm looking for a specific model. That is how I got into the 3" 66 game with perhaps one of the tougher ones to find, the super K L.H. P.C.
That has me trying to track down many more!!! Hope some day to have a set like those!!

SAfireman, Glad you had such a streak of good fortune and were able to get guns you wanted.
Very nice looking trio!!

I love them a lot, i got a 4'' 66 no dash , here in Canada it is classify prohibided so it means i got the privilege of keeping it cause of mi age i got the grandpa privilege but when i passe away mi grand children won't be allow to keep it, it will be destroy by the police unless i get an export license and i sell it to an interested USA citysen. so here in Canada it is a good place for you guys to buy for cheep price all kind of fire armes that are 4'' or shorter.

Nice..... I've got two -3s and a -4.

Got the -3s back in 89 or 90 new when no one wanted them.... if it didn't have 15 up the butt it wasn't worth having ..... would get you killed when you ran out of bullets!

Ran across the -4 about 15 years ago in a LGS ..... marked as a "S&W Model 66 .357mag " for just over three bills......Story was "an older guy traded it on a j-frame".

I must ask, what is Ashland? Was that a distributor or something?

Very nice guns all! I have a 6 inch 66-3, but nothing that short.

Was just checking the local gun trader site, and a guy has a 65-5 Lady Smith for $600. Same thing as a fixed sight 3" 66.

If it was a regular 3 hour drive I'd be on my way right now, but it's a 3 hour drive on I-4 which means a possible 6 hour drive.
