That is not quite correct about Von Lengerke & Antoine later becoming Abercrombie & Fitch.
Abercrombie & Fitch was located in New York City. Abercrombie & Fitch BOUGHT Von Lengerke & Detmold, another company located in NYC, and bought their Chicago branch, known as Von Lengerke & Antoine, at the same time.
