Triplelock?

If refinished it still looks pretty good side plate wise.
The finish now could be cleaned up and better presented w/o worrying about touching it up for a better appearance. The blued locking parts could be stripped and the action parts can be stripped or cleaned of the bluing. As for the barrel, I'd leave it as is if the sights work alright. If I had the duckets I would've bought it. Be nice to have a 4 inch TL. I'd be proud of owning it...

I think its actually a cut barrel.

The info should be on the right side there, and it looks like its on top.

My initial response was that this originally had a 4” barrel and the barrel markings on the right side of the barrel had been buffed off. But, when you zoom in to the very top of the barrel, you see enough irregularity that you can see that’s the barrel markings. Now, it may be evident in other better photographs that it isn’t so good, but whomever replaced that front sight did a really good job of it such that it doesn’t ever look to have been removed and reset.

I asked for more pictures and the barrel was cut. Now I will say the work was done very well. Definitely brought too much money for a modified gun.

You would think with ten photographs in the auction listing, the auction house could have provided a photograph of the barrel address on the top of the barrel—allowing for immediate determination that the barrel had been cut.

I've noticed that some auction houses are very good at not
showing some details that you would think most people would want to see.
