Looking to change the sights on M&P9c. What are your experiences with Truglo TFO, Trijicon HD or Ameriglo Pro I-dot? Looking for pros and cons. How do they compare in different light conditions?

Been trying to research the same issue. From what I've ascertained the Ameriglos are a nice budget sights almost as good as the Trijicon HDs. TFOs have a rep for being a little fragile and aren't quick in between light and dark.

The glock guys who run Ameriglos swear the way to go is the pro I dots with the yellow back, makes you pick up the front way easier, but unfortunately they do not sell this configuration (yet) for the M&P. Same with the TFOs, yellow rears are supposed to be the way to go, makes the front stand out, but gives the rears enough to make out.

I'm currently suffering paralysis by over analysis, but I'll likely end up going with the orange HDs.

My "research" consisted of looking for what was most readily available and buying that. I don't put much stock in opinions because opinions are, well...subjective.

What was available at the time was acceptable to me...the Ameriglos. Cheaper than Trijicons (by a lot in some cases). Unless you 're brand loyal any of them would be a good choice.

We sell these things for 99 installed at our shop, had a buy walk in with three glocks a few hours ago and dress em up! TFO's are going on my M&P soon!

I can't speak to the other two, but the TruGlo TFOs are fantastic. I took a chance on them and haven't been disappointed.

They are marvelous in all lighting conditions. I'm actually considering switching all my guns to them.

I've got the Ameriglo Pro-IDot Orange front and the Ameriglo Single Dot rear on my M&P Shield. They're bright in low light and no light situations.

My experience:

The TFOs are freakin sweet. VERY bright in daylight. Nice and bright in no light. I've read reviews about them stating they have quality control or reliability issues but I know two guys who use them all the time with zero issues.

The trijicon HDs are fantastic also. The yellow or orange dot is super easy to pick up quickly. The tritium is super bright also. I can see it glowing at daytime sometimes. The HDs can be expensive though.

I have the yellow HDs on my 9c but I'm having suppressor hight sights put on. Therefore I'm going to be selling my HDs for about $100.

I am actually kind of leaning toward the Ameriglo's I kind of like the 2 dot set up. At this stage all are within the price I am willing to pay. I figure that if they help with low or no light situations and are also good in day light situations as well and help pick up the target quickly with my aging eyesight they will be worth every penny.

I will continue to monitor this thread to see what others have to say. Thank all of you have responded so far.

I have MeproLight Tru-Dot night sights on all my M&P's and M&Pc's. They are bright green and easy to see in sunlight and in the dark. The rear sight has a combat cut so you can rack the slide on your belt or pocket if one hand is out of action. I will not have a rear sight on any defensive handgun that is not cut or strong enough to rack the slide one-handed. $80 at Amazon or Optics Planet.

I put the TRU glo on my M&P .45. I'm retired LEO and used trigicon and meprolights for years. But in the daytime, they're just white dot sights. Now that I'm getting older the dual colored TFOs are quicker to pick up and are brighter the brighter the ambient light. They're as handy in the daylight as low light. Will they last as long as the other two? Maybe not. I'm sure a sharp blow to the tubes will probably demolish them. But a guy I worked with that is still on the job installed the TFOs on his duty Glock and has had them on for over a year with no problems.

Bowie tactical yellow rear with orange Ameriglo Pro front (green). I really like the rear yellow and green front at night.
