A partner is trying to establish a fair and "friendly" value on his unfired 4" 586 (Ser # CCR5113) for a sale or trade around the office. Also a date on the serial # would be nice too. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

That appears to be one of the newer classic line 586s. So age wise not very old and not as desirable as a pre-lock. I would say $650-700 is where I would start with an askig price

I think Brasky is right on for the asking price. It gives you a little room for negotiations. Also, I see at times... stronger resale prices in CA. over other regions. Possibly because gun models and sales are so restricted here.

Some online sales are in the mid to low 700.00. If your searching Gallery of Guns as low as 650.00 - 850.00 depending on your area and gun shop, for new.

I paid $740 for a new one a few months ago from a dealer. That was the best price I could find and I shopped around. I only buy new.

New in 2013...... The gun has to be discounted over a brand new gun. Why buy used when you can own NIB/never been fired? Take $75 off price for NIB. Now then, if it were pre-lock, that's an entirely different animal....

I bought a LNIB model 586-8 a few months ago on GB for $500.
I see them on GB quite often for $600 or less. Shop around,or just explain to your friend what you can buy one for elsewhere.
Unless you absolutely need one brand new, you can find a like new for much less.
