Tumbling

Since I have just obtained a tumbler and have run both primed and de-primed cases through it, I think I will follow the practice of tumbling prior to removing the primer, which if I did I would use a universal de-primer to save wear and tear on the sizing/de-primer die. Also I found that about a third of the de-primed cases had media stuck in the flash hole after tumbling, which meant another inspection of each case followed by punching out the flash hole for a third of the cases.

For cleaning the primer hole, I find it easier to put a primer brush in my drill press and quickly clean the primer hole. Much faster than inspecting each case and removing media from a third of them.

Today I purchased a ten pound bag of crushed walnut shells at my local pet store for $10. With the volume of cases I clean, that will last me for a long time.
