Two beauties at the range yesterday

Only one of the subjects in this photo fits in this section, but hopefully no one will mind. I think they make a nice pair together. At the range yesterday with these two, a 1939 K-22 Outdoorsman and a 1982 Hi Power. If the Registered Magnum came in 22lr, the Outdoorsman would be it, and the BHP is as classic as it gets. They made quite a contrast to plastic models that were in use.

Very nice OP. I do not have the OD, but I have a 1971 HP that I bought new in 71 with Craig Spegel scales

My dad had a HP much like Petes. I remember he got it in trade for some dental work in the early 70's. Dad was a dentist and not a gun person. I was a budding gun nut in high school at the time. I now have the HP but have had the rear sight replaced with more user friendly one.

They look awesome together. I don't have a revolver that old, I prefer the more modern look, but the BHP is timeless. Your MkII is superb, I like the beercan sights and the deep blue finish. My MkIII is 13 years newer than yours, and in Silver Chrome, with Millett sights, but the shape never changes, nor does how they shoot. Mine's also a .40 S&W.

Would that make mine a S&W BHP? I might have to post mine up with my M48-4.

Looking at your classic photo of a Smith & Wesson revolver (and the BHP) reminds me of why I got interested in S&W and handguns in general years ago... and I realize the counters full of plastic guns in the gunshops now, are exactly why buying new guns doesn't interest me like it used to. Blue steel and wood will always be my type of handgun.
