Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

They are back . . . tied to a "newly found" half-brother to my nephew in Oklaholma City; have it on good word that supplies should resume and hopefully some assemblance of credibility restored.

I received my order placed in April. The quality of the grips are just as good as before.

I've moved on to BK adapters for my Smith's but I needed an adapter for a Colt Police Positive Special -- I noticed Tyler's new wesite listed them as being in stock -- I mailed a check on Thursday 1st September -- got a call this morning (3rd Sept) checking on it and was told it would be in the mail today -- Sounds like they may have their act togeather again -- I'll post when it gets here

I' glad for everyone involved, but if I happen to need another Grip adapter I will order from B.K. Grips. As another member noted Wrangler5 stepped up and filled a need when Tyler was not shipping.

I wish both B.K. Grips and Tyler the very best.

Tyler T

Received my #3 T grip today after 7 months. I had given up any hope of ever receiving it but I think the new management is running the business as Melvin did. Tedog

New Production Tyler T-Grips

After all the news of the ownership change of Tyler Manufacturing and hearing about people who had begun receiving their old orders, I thought I would take a $30 gamble and order a T-Grip for my Model 66 no dash. I came really close to spending $100 on a 3R size on eBay a while back and I'm glad I didn't. It was approximately 4 weeks since I placed my order and I got the adapter in the mail today. Quality is very good and fit is right on the money. I've very happy that I took the chance on them and hope that my experience might convince others who are on the fence to go ahead and commit. Here are a couple photos of the no dash 66 with the T-Grip.

Good to hear. Those folks have been in such absolute disorder that I assumed they had collapsed for good. Hope the business recovers.

I just received the T-Grip that i ordered in January today. I had pretty much written it off, so was quite suprised!

Thanks fellas. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out and the way the changed the look of the pistol. A 2.5" Model 19/66 looks really cool with a T-Grip in my opinion. And it's such an easy thing to install and remove that I can't think of why everyone doesn't at least have one to change things up every now and then.

Now I just need to find a 2.5" Model 19 P&R to match my 66 no dash!

I got mine in today too. But I only ordered mine about 4 weeks ago...:o

Finally got my two--a bronze N-frame and a shiny black K-frame. They look good!

Received T-grips

Ordered 2 t-grips, one colt and one smith, brushed aluminum in November 2009, got them yesterday after about 21 months!!!!! Had given up on ever seeing them.

What's really amazing is that the build quality looks better than the originals that I had obtained about 30 years ago.

Update -- I recieved my T-Grip today -- 8 Sept -- one week to the day since I ordered it -- Butch

Tyler T-Grip turnaround was 13 days

After seeing positive signs on previous threads, I decided to go for it and order a new J-frame T-grip. Order was mailed on 8/31, and the grip arrived today.

Looks like things are back to normal. Just wanted to share my experience.

Thanks.

Leonard,
If you get tired of waiting, a forum member Wrangler5 has been producing Grip Adapters to fill the void. (BK grips) His new ones are a DOUBLE CLIP DESIGN and the fit is really good on both my "J" and "K" frames.

Still waiting for J frame paid for in December!

Have you called or written to them, at least since things started to get back to normal? In all the confusion I'm sure it's possible that some orders simply got lost. It took about five months for the ones I ordered in March to come back, but I got them around the end of August or first of September.

I plan to order a few more.

About a month ago I mailed them a copy of the original order on their form never heard back. Does anyone have a phone number?

I bought an old Tyler for the gun at a show so its not need but a matter of principle.
