I found a Model 15-2, stamped U.S.A.F. and bought it over the Internet from a dealer. Had it shipped to a buddy with his FFL. My buddy and I were both prior USAF MTU Red Caps in the 70s. Anyway, the revolver showed up and it dates to 1965 and has never been fired, and I am wondering what something like this is valued at in today's market. It is in perfect shape.
Thanks in advance!

If you are able to let us know about how much you paid for it, along with photos, we might let you know how much you overpaid ;).

An unfired 15-2 U.S.A.F! Now that's a very nice find. Congratulations. And yes, we sure do look forward to some pics. Here's another question regarding this gun. Since it is a government contract gun, did it come with standard S&W box, papers and tools? And if so, did yours come with them?

I am working today but will get some pics as soon as I can. I paid $1200.00 for it, as I indeed wanted it very bad because when I went in the USAF in 74 that is what we carried. As a small arms instructor and armorer, I know these fairly well, and carried one everyday to protect our armory and ammo storage at the ranges. Anyway, it is clean and pristine, so I am very happy. No box or papers. Supposedly came from Wright Patterson.
