Well, Shoo got a booboo today. Somehow managed to get my left index finger between a razor-sharp 1" endmill and a workpiece. The endmill won. Shredded my finger and bone up to the first joint, it wasn't pretty. I'm home now and watching some college football. Over 30 years of machining and I really got bit good this time. There may be some delays if anyone has ordered anything from me in the last few days. Gotta keep on keepin' on I guess...... Shoo

....geez....that's a bummer!

Cheers from one of your satisfied previous customers.....

Does this mean you'll be having an "items damaged due to human blood" sale?

I was a machinist for about 40 years and I never got my finger clipped, but I did get a couple of 6" scales converted to 5-1/2" scales.

I also wiped the magnetic chuck on a surface grinder one time and found out that there was insufficient clearance to allow my middle finger to pass under the wheel. Right back in the white part of the finger nail.

That got my attention real fast. God luck on your recovery. Not your trigger finger I hope?:D

Ah heck, Shoo; I hate to read that. It can and does happen to the best of us. I have been messing around in machine shops for over 50 years now and (knock on wood) haven't got a serious owwey yet. Get well fast. I don't think missing the tip of your left finger is going to slow you down any place except on the computer keyboard. :-) ........ Big Cholla

PS: Just the other day I was looking at my gunsmithing hammers and marveling at the realization that I could retire about half of them since receiving one of yours. ............

OUCH!!! Dude, I hope you weren't working on my Shoostuff! :) I hope you're OK.

Really? 3/4"? I'm sure with your experience in measuring, that is accurate! OUCH!!!

Have a few brews then go take some pics! ;)

P.S. If you were working on my stuff and got blood on any of it, leave it on for additional collectible value.

Dang Shoo..........now that's gonna leave a mark!

Hope it doesn't feel as bad as it sounds. Recovery quickly. The best to you Shoo!

I once got my feelings hurt. I hope you recover as quickly as I did..!! .. ;)

Thank you all for the thoughts and well wishes, and making me laugh busting my chops. It hurts pretty bad right now, but I do have some meds. I broke the bone into about 100 pieces, they removed that. I have to meet with a surgeon on Wednesday to see if they are going to take any more of the finger. I did this at my job with GM, so it will be under workman's comp. It's not my trigger finger, I've already had surgery on that one back in '81 when it was destroyed by a softball. I may have to start using my feet to run my lathe !!! Sorry, no pictures at this time, believe me, you don't want to see it.....Shoo

I am certain the times that you've gotten frustrated with that machine, you've wanted to give it the finger- but not this way.

Get to feeling better! :)

I cringed when I read that. Hope you heal fast…thank God it was not worse.
