I was at a very small gunshow yesterday and picked up a very unusual 617-1. I was customized by Weigand Combat Handguns and had been fired very little. It has a custom thumb piece and a very light bead blast finish with the Weigand logo stamped into the sideplate. It has a very close BBL to CYL gap and appears to have the forcing cone recut. It also has a very nice consistant carryup and great lockup. The trigger, both single and double action, is one of the very best I have ever felt and compares favorably to my Power Custom from the early 80's. The original target trigger has been polished smooth on the face with nothing done to the sides.
I researched Mr. Weigand and found that he was one of the top pistolsmiths of the 90's and president of the pistolsmith guild. His website indicates that he no longer accepts pistols for customization and markets accessories and tools.
I will try to post a picture but my computer skills are limited.

The other pictures came out blurry so I didn't post them.
