Military and Police 32 long has a new home. A fellow forum member contacted me concerning it, liked it well enough to give it a new home, I feel both will be happy.

Thanks to all who posted on this thread.

I am still helping with some of the estate of my friend who passed in 2021, here is one that I can't find much information about. There is only a small paragraph in the S&W Standard catalog about it so any help would be appreciated.

Please excuse my photo quality.
Thanks in advance.
Bob

Yes like the others have already stated. It's a pretty scarce model. There's a few floating among the forum members here. I had one a year or two ago and sold it to a forum member. Wonderful gun and highly collectible. I didn't keep it because it was such a collectible gun that I had a hard time justifying regular shooting and usage.

Mine didn't have original stocks unfortunately, but it was a 5 incher like yours in great shape. Since your friends gun has original stocks and letter, I'd say that's a $2,500 gun easily and maybe 3k-3,500 to the right collector.

I did enjoy the shooting outings that I did have with the 32 m&p. It shot spot on with my usual 2.5gr bullseye load and Lee 93gr cast LSWC.

This one is S991110. It shipped to Sloan's Sporting Goods in NYC on April 21, 1948. That shipment included 100 units, half of which had 5" barrels and the other 50 had 4" barrels.

Lee,
I do not have the gun, but I will take a picture the next time I see it. I took the photos last month.

Are you selling it for the estate? I you haven't seen a lot of prices proposed for it yet… and I would be afraid to even make an estimate. They are so rarely seen and so rarely change hands, it comes down to what that specific piece brings on the specific day it sells. At a national or well attended local auction, if two or more bidders with deep pockets want it, the sky will be the limit. Regardless, it's a real treasure.
