Good Luck! My surgery, as I mentioned long ago now was a two day affair, resulting in my early retirement. I too was told I could pass during the surgeries, or wake up a few days later...I took lots of blood and there were fears by family, but I am still here! Good Luck!! Prayer seems to help!

Thank you and thank God ur doing better. Luckily--I dont have anything that should make the operation any more than routine. I just got word yesterday to see a Cardiologist in about two weeks and that is the hinge on when ill get the surgery. I dont see any problems because--my blood pressure is pretty normal and my heart has no problems. Im also completely giving up salt in take for awhile too--not that any Dr has asked me to do so.

I'm old, fat and not ugly but close.

I've had dirt bikes, motorcycles and cars that were babe magnets. They don't care what you look like. I enjoy the view God bless there little hearts.

Heh heh,I used to have a decent car--but stopped driving because of the tremors--about seven years ago.I would sure love driving a car again post operation. When I lived in a small town--it was fairly easy to get decent to great-looking girls. Trouble is--is I had to teach a few a lesson, for trying to steal my girlfriend. ;) I wouldnt mind getting on of those motorcycle trikes??

I figure the way my health is plus I'm 64yo it's party time. It's time to enjoy life. I'm thinking about a new mustang. I feel sporty on the inside.
Maybe a dual sport bike to putt around town. It's time to let go a little.
Time is taking its toll with arthritis. But I need to do something. I'm dreaming but I'm going fishing for sure.

Ringo kid you will feel like me too.

That does sound fun. I wouldnt mind having something two-wheeled to-to get around cheaply enough. Shortly before my dad died--he bought a small convertable--and loved cruising in that thing. I'd settle for one of those large scooters-or whatever they are called?

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I also apologize as I learned about this just now. Modern medicine is amazing now so try to relax about it. It will be worth it and you will be back in the saddle in no time.

If you want to look at fun rides there are a couple alternatives I've been looking at. If you like motorcycles but don't like the shifting, look at a Honda Silver Wing. It's a very large scooter that definitely does not look like one. You just hop on, twist the throttle and go. For quite a bit more, go for a Can Am Spyder. Three wheels, paddle shifter, ABS brakes and a lot more technology than any other motor cycle. One of the most fun rides I've ever been on. Treat yourself, you only live once and should make the best of it.

I had one of those stimulator's implanted in my spine to control pain. It helped me to live with the pain better but was very prone to scar tissue around the leads. Best of luck to you and hope for the best recovery to you

Thank you Lab and Don,I greatly appreciate it.My next little hurdle is passing a stress test--but thats no problem. I had a few things done early this morning and found my BP is better than it was--and even after I had had some exercise.

You wouldnt happen to know price-ranges on these would you? I would like a large scooter--and one that does at least highway speed. Price is what will matter since I dont have ready cash yet but hopefully by years end. I have arare Beatles poster im planning putting up for aucton at Bonhams. Inits condition, ive been told it could get up to as much as twenty five grand.Bonhams does the TCM autions--so they get the correct crowds bidding.

Thank you and glad your doing better. Small scars I can easily handle. Ive had two major surgeries since oh eight--and have five small scars that are hard to see. Since I dont go outside shirtless--nobody sees anything I dont want seen.

Carl,

(1) Do you have someone there in Corpus to assist you?

(2) You need to recuperate for the next Robstown show which will be in August, we need you behind our tables.

I didn't know

So sorry to learn that you're facing such serious surgery. Like the others, I too hope and pray that you make a speedy and full recovery. I'll be thinking of you.

Maybe you can trust someone with access to the forum so that they might give us an update?

The Silver wing is the largest scooter I know of but don't know the price. You can get a Can Am Spyder for anywhere between 20 and 30 thousand new. There are good deals for used as well. Get on a Spyder forum and see which are the best years and models. A friend has a top of the line and it has everything on it. I believe he got it for a deal at around $20,000 a few years ago.

Thank you Larry. My sister will help as much as possible. Cathy works about three or so miles away so not big deal on her end. Im just hoping I can get this actual surgery done by end of this month. I have an appointment with a cardiologist in about another ten days. I cant see not passing his tests.

Heh heh,its a date... I plan on going both days this time too. I had to last show because I have a friend who has a budding interest in guns-so I told him about some of what you guys have for sale. I told him that if he buys? to leave the Luger for me.:D Im HOPING to have enough to get it by then?

Thank you sir and I sure will. Also, ill have my tablet with me so hopefully can be online. Im hoping I have surgery at Drs regional--mostly because my regular Dr is in the next building, their food is great and their wifi works well and I can get on any site. At Spohn, theirs if iffy at best.

I do have a couple in mind who can post ifI cant? I just want to make sure the big ape doesnt mind in case I have togive them my info for here? :D

If those are what I think they are? they are pricewise-way out of my league. I wonder if Honda still makes the type that can seat two people?

Ringo, please keep us posted on how things are going. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck, amigo.

Thank you sir and i sure will. Also,I watched that surgery dvd last night but--forgot to bring my notes for posting here.

Sorry about not updatig lately,Ive been menaing to but always forgetting.

Well, ive been Oked for surgery having passed all stress and other tests. As of friday last week, I was also diagnosed with a form of memory loss according to the tests I did that day. I guess ill find out more details with any forthcoming appointments. Anyway, the operation im getting will be the one where they isert a wire into your brain to give it certain signals. I now need to remember to do my homework and watch that DvD on the surgery I was long since supposed to do--but keep forgetting to do so. Since its not done as a western--I keep forgeting about it.
