First, thank you all for the prayers following my heart attack on June 8. I appreciate that very much. I just got a call from my cardiologist's assistant telling me that my echocardiogram from Wednesday showed improvement in the extraction factor for my left ventricle. Unfortunately, it has not improved enough to get me in the clear. Therefore, I need an internal defribulator/pacemaker. I needed improvement above 35 to avoid this. I am right at 35. This is probably for the best. If my heart stops, the defribulator will "jump start" my heart. Without it, well, that's all folks. If you could pray a little longer for a good outcome with the defribulator, I would appreciate it. God Bless you all.

It's been just about a month ago that I crashed. Doctors said my
Medtronic pacemaker/defibrillator saved my life. I had been wearing
it for over 3 years and this was the first "incident". Kinda like a gun,
it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Doug, my EF has been 25 for over 8 years and I am on my second three wire ICD. I don't think about it much but I am grateful to have a backup kick starter at the ready.

You and I have been messaging and praying for each other for a while now and that means a lot. I am gonna add a pad to my prayer carpet so I can spend some extra time on the hot line.

I shamelessly endorse Boston Scientific. (Medtronic is the other big dog).

If money is tight and you are good with basic tools then:

llowry61: I won't get a second opinion. The defribulator is good insurance against my heart stopping as the cardiac problems progress. I'm on a very low sodium diet and no alcohol. I'm not sure if the diet is to help me or make the life I have left seem longer.
