UPS sucks canal water

I'm waiting for a new Deltapoint and it has been sitting at the UPS hub in Minneapolis for 2 days, the reason is "Adverse Weather Conditions" and the estimated delivery date has disappeared. Oh well, I'll just have to muddle through with iron sights. ;)

...UPS is so back logged that they are using contracted carriers of questionable safety rating moving their trailers...

They also ship a lot by rail.
Not 100% sure on this, but I think the Christmas backlog has pretty much all been cleared up by now. I just got a package delivered only a couple of days after the order was placed.

They do move a lot of packages that are going long distances by rail - but they are whole trailer loads at a time, not individual packages. Of course one derailment, train accident, or avalanche, or whatever can back up a BUNCH of trains - with a bunch of their trailers on them - for a day or even two very easily.

I think all carriers have bad days.

Sent a letter via Priority Mail (with tracking) from the Chicago Southwest suburbs to one of the North suburbs.

It went to Columbus, Ohio before being delivered.

It was only two or three days late. No big deal.
