USB cable confusion! Which one is good enough??

All I want to do is transfer "data" (pics, docs) from one computer to another. So I search around and find so many kinds. I need a USB c to USB c male type cable.

But now they have so many speeds, and for "data" etc etc.

I do not need warp speed, just some simple copying. I used to used jump drives but then I have to transfer the info twice.

So what's a good one (not real cheapo) and 3ft is long enough.?? Do I need a $18 one??

Get the best you can afford; you can't go wrong, maybe. Can you load it on one of those little tear drop shaped things then put in the new computer? I think they're cheap now.

I'd just copy onto a USB drive or external hard drive then download to another computer.

Yes, as I mentioned that's my problem they have to darn many of them!

I’ve used every kind from Dollar Store to ‘higher quality’ from Amazon-Best Buy.
The ones I’ve the most problem with are Apple which came with the device.
Right now for iPad I’m using a etguuds with braided cover, from Amazon.
Just checked, 2 -3 footers for $6.

Amazon Basics - inexpensive but very high quality heavy duty cables. I think I paid $3.99 each for the ones (3 foot C to C USB 3.2) I have.

FYI
According to the company that makes cables.(Via e mail)In order to transfer data from one Win PC to another Win PC a data transfer cable is needed. Otherwise the computers do not know which computer is transferring or receiving. Essentially it is a software built in or downloaded,

I ended up just using my portable hard drive took 5 minutes. A USB jump drive would have taken over an hour!

I use a flash drive or a solid state drive to transfer data. I like the fact that I have a backup of the data being transferred.


When I get new PC, I set up a folder that I name Joe Files(you can use your first name if you like). when I install programs, I set them to use their own folder that is a sub folder in Joe Files. you then only have to copy Joe Files to get all of the data that your PC uses.


I also use a program SyncBackSE. It will back up selected folders the first time and then just the changed and added files after that. This lets me maintain backup of all of my data. I can use that to copy it to a new PC.
