View from my deer stand

This is my favorite thread!
I can NOT wait to get my grandson Kylar out on November 2nd...I'm more excited for his hunt than for ANY hunt I've taken for myself. I was the same way when I took my son, daughter, nephew, niece, neighbor's kid, customer's grand daughter(s).....for me, it's ALL about introducing our sport to new hunters.

I sure appreciate all you guys do for new hunters.

Bob

A great deal of satisfaction and joy comes from teaching and passing on to future generations the skills we have learned over a lifetime. Thanks for all you do in introducing the sport to those who will follow us.

This is the view from my "stand"...

Saw a very large 12-point about 2 years ago from my stand,
couldn't shoot it... didn't have the camera at the time.

My "stand" is about 10 foot high and 16'x20'...
it's my back deck!:D
Pat baits them every year with her garden.:D

Kind'a funny... I hunting a lot until I stopped about 15 years ago.. it was part of my job. I was the design engineer for a hunting products company. Stands was our #1 product.

I love the "off the back deck pics". We are building a new home smack on top of our most productive deer stand (we pulled the stand first). I expect we will share the backyard as many of you are doing once the activity normalizes.

Great photos!

Great pics guys and I see some spots I'd love to try at your places, even for turkey.

I'm not much of a hardcore deer hunter lately, but have killed a few in the past 20 years and some from right here, my own deck. This first pic is what we see out of our dining room table/great room sliding door onto the deck. Pictured is my new main deck gun, the bolt Ruger 7-22 in .22 lr and Nikon 3 x 9 x 40 scope.

Four coyotes have fallen from the same "blind" to my open-sighted 1917 .303 British SMLE, two this past summer. You have to always be cognizant of where the goats might be when targeting a crow etc. as they are always curious about gunfire and investigate. The other goat is roan/reddish brown colored.
