Location
Arkansas Ozarks
My wife asked me if I would escort her on a walkabout to a location where a great horned owl nested last year in the hopes it was nesting again this year and we could take some pictures. The place is a rather remote location on our neighbors property, it's about a 4 mile ride on the ATV then another mile and a half or so hike to a stand of tall pines where the nest is.

We waited until the weather forecast indicated clear skies in the Ozarks Mountains so the sunlight would help with lighting when using telephoto lenses. We loaded up our camera gear, my wife being the better photographer than I, and spent the day taking wildlife photos to and from the nesting spot of the great horned owl.

Great photos, I hope scenes like these are around in the Ozarks a 100 years from today. If not, someone viewing these pictures will know what they are missing.

I spent a few weeks at Ft Chaffee twice in the winter.

I loved it! The area was full of wildlife.

Lots of the troops were whining about the cold. I couldn't stay still long enough to notice. Note, I'm a Florida native.

Thanks again for sharing your beautiful pictures.

So, Mr. Faulkner, do you ever get tired of clearing all the "like" notifications when you come to this site? :)

I like the picture of the Bald Eagles and the coyote. Are they trying to get him to drop Bugs, or did they kill it, and the coyote took it from them? It's hard work being an animal.

The coyote was a long way off across a field, there were actually a pair of them. When we first spotted it we hunkered down under a cedar tree and just watched them while they were apparently hunting for field rats or other small game. As they surrounded a brush pile, one coyote on one side and the other on the other side, one coyote went into the brush pile and a rabbit took off out the other side, right past the other coyote. After a short 10 yard or so chase the rabbit was caught, it was really a neat thing to watch.
