Want to get into reloading.....

I'm going to put my two cents in on the original post. Lee stuff isn't awesome BUT it's great to get started in. Lee loaders and dies are very economical and make good ammo. I still use my Lee loaders. A great starter to grow with is the four station turret press. You can use it as a single stage press till you get the "feel" of it. Then drop in the advance rod and you rocking and rolling. Bad thing is that everything IS outta stock and if you do find it, it's crazy over-priced. eBay is great for buying used presses too. Again, costs are inflated so if you want to reload now so you can shoot now, go for it! Otherwise wait it out till the end of the year and see what opens up.

but it appears I picked the wrong time. Everyone seems to be out of stock. I'm looking at the Lee Classic Turrent press which seems to be a decent unit. I thought about getting into it 20 years ago but never got past the looking. Now that I'm retired I would like to get into it. Anyone have a line on these or any suggestions?

I'll just say you picked a good press. It will do everything you want it to do. ( once you get dies, powder, brass, primers and heads that is..)

BTW, don't forget to order two powder measure risers. For some reason Lee neglects to include these in their kits. You'll need both if your going to run the disk powder measures on pistol dies. I might also suggest you read the reviews for the LCT over at midwayusa.com. There are some good hints buried in those reviews.

I started out with a cheap Lee press, made about 50 rounds and said screw this and bought a Dillon 650. Some years later, I've NEVER blown up my gun, made a bunch of ammo that needed to be torn down, or scratched my head for hours trying to figure out what is wrong.
Setting up and running that 650 is not hard, just pay attention to what you are doing.
But with that said I also have a Redding Big Boss II single stage because there are some things that a progressive just can't do.
Not saying you should run out and buy a 600 dollar machine, just saying running one and learning on one is not difficult.

As for the wrong time......?

My powder/primer ordered on the 18th of last month just left the warehouse today............. just another 7-10 days ?

Good luck getting started, just don't be in a rush.

Jeff, you have seen what I have. I bought the press and all ***. on E-bay. I bought before the madness. You are smart to not use the turret press with the turning mechanism at the start. As you know I do every step one at a time and double check every round. Keep checking on E-bay and you can find what you need. If you have any problems or questions you can call.
