New to the forum, and would like a little information if possible about my Model 10-5 revolver. It has the four inch regular barrel, and serial number D1433xx.

What year was it made? Are they common? The one I have is in mint, 95%+ condition. What can you tell me about value? Have no box or papers.

Thank you.

Welcome! Your gun is a very common gun, but a great gun at that! Looks like made 1969-1970 and the value to me would be $350-$450 depending on condition.

I was just about to post my question when I noticed this thread. My 10-5 serial number is D142743 so based ongunnut44's reply I'm guessing my 6" is 1968-69? Cute little revolver and fits real nice in the hand. Just got it yesterday.

Well, since we've talked about the common 4" barrel and have seen a photo of the 6" variety, here's mine - A 10-5, D248xxx from the same period, only with the less popular 5-inch barrel.

Balances very nice in the hand and is just a lovely example of high speed, low drag.

Side-question on M10-5's: How much (if any)does the round butt configuration add to the value of an otherwise run of the mill M10? I bought a "US" marked, rb-4" M10-5 a couple of years ago and paid a premium for that and its condition (99%), but also because at the time I just hadn't seen very many rb-4" M10's. Last week my favorite purveyor got another 4" M10-5 rb in; ~ 90% condition and no "US" markings. So...any premium for an otherwise plain-Jane, used but not abused, rb-4" M10-5? -S2
