Warning stickers - Yes or No?

My mom, being a Facebook junkie, came up with something better than a sign.

A pair of muddy work shoes on the porch, a couple of large dog dishes, and a note on the door, "Be careful with dogs. They went after the postman today and there was blood everywhere. The big one's been a bit jumpy ever since."

I bought a sign while on vacation and hung it in the garage

Due to the price increase on ammo
DO NOT expect a warning shot.

It's perfect timing for a sign like that. It looks like a danger sign with bullet holes and such but I would never advertise that I have anything. If someone can get by my two German Sheperds then I will take it from there.

I have a sign in my front yard that reads. "If you can read this sign; You're in range".

Of the 10+ years I have lived in this house. I've never had a problem with anyone.

My backyard is also fenced in and I have a few signs that say "Not responsible for lost hands or feet".

Of my 10+ years living here, no one has wanted to come close enough to my fence and try to play with my dogs.

x2 No stickers, signs etc here. While I get the idea, and fine many of them humorous, in the event you actual have fire your weapon, a good attorney could twist it around to damage your "character" and portray you in a negative manner to a judge/jury. That said, to each his own.

A good attorney could say the same thing considering your weapon was already loaded. It was premeditated because u had already loaded it.

Unless of course u actually take ur time to get up out of bed. Go to your gun safe, open it up, and load some rounds into the weapon.

Growing up there was a house down the road with a clever sign. It read "trespassers will be shot, survivors will be violated".

I prefer the element of surprize, no warning, no signs, just the sound of the rounds going off if the my deadbolted door is kicked in. I also keep no bumper stickers of any kind.

I don't wear gun hats or clothes and don't even put NRA stickers on my truck. I don't want to give people any idea that I might have a gun on me or in my house or truck. Out of sight out of mine. Don

No stickers, no advertising /I have weapons/protected by S&W etc. IMO it's just advertising what you don't want people to know. The dog warning and a large water dish along with a lock on the fence gate is good advice. However, if you live in a state with snow - no paw prints in the snow tells it all. The big defference is who wants to get in your home - kids or career criminals. You have to be prepared for both. I've been thinking I might get a Honey Badger - that should cover the back yard at least.

Seriously, I agree with Steve in Vermont.

NO STICKERS HERE... But the Honey Badger that would keep any bad guy away. Those things kill Cobras...

No bumper stickers, decals, trade mark clothing and especially no "I Dare You" signs on or around the house. It's nobody's business what I might or might not have.

There's a guy here in town with a big lifted up ford truck that has the words " ccw 45 auto" in BIG white letters on the rear glass. To me, that is a bad idea.

I would say it is a bad idea. If you put something up like that, a defense attorney/civil lawsuit attorney could twist it into something like you were just spoiling for a firearm related confrontation.

There had even been some talk about using reloaded ammunition in a defensive position. It was twisted into the victim/shooter was wanting to be as lethal as possible when he shot a bad guy...kind of like a thrill seeker

And, to add on the ammo aspect...I would advise store-bought ammo and if you can get what the local LEO carries, so much the better.

I used to have a souvenir DANGER - MINEFIELD sign in my yard, in English and Khmer, all red with a skull &crossbones and that kept pedestrians off my lawn. Someone stole it...

As far as advising others against using reloads - the Internet rumors are just that, rumors. There has never been a case ...aw forget about it, I'm not going to change anything.

If you choose to use "LEO ONLY" ammo, that's your choice.
