Was this a correct Magpul AFG?

I have one it works just fine, no problems. ( it's not a real Magpul ) it's Magpul PTS . It fits fine , looks good and works just like the expensive one.

Should fit just fine and probably shouldn't be an issue on the 15-22. It just might not be quite as sturdy as the non-airsoft version.

I think that's is the 1st version but you can get the 2nd version of the AFG for $10 on various sites. Works great If you need the site just inbox me!

Botach has them for non member $33.20 member price is $27.75 free shipping and no tax. Need to sign up for their mailer to get the discount.

There is nothing wrong with using the PTS AFG on the 15-22. There actually isn't anything wrong with using the PTS AFG on a center fire rifle either.

Just don't put it on a rifle you want to trust your life to. IE a cop's patrol rifle, SWAT call out rifle or a Military issue rifle.

Heck I'd say 98% of the time on a self defense rifle it would work as designed. It is rather hard to mess up a chunk of plastic and a cross bolt!

But for the 15-22, as a cheap plinker? Go for it.

I have the PTS and it's perfectly fine. Fits tight and everything.

I mistakenly picked up the PTS when I first got my 15-22. It's been on and off and been fine. I wouldn't get any PTS products that have any movement though (MBUS). Cheaper plastic and more prone to losing zero and breakage.

I put a PTS version of the AFG2 on my youngest grandson's 15-22. The difference between it and my real AFG2 is very noticeable. For light duty, it's ok, but for my older grandson we put the regular version on his.

the only magpul parts id order under the pts name would be

the afg and the sling mount

other than that go for the real deal

Really noticeable or practically different? I have an AFG1 and and AFG2, one is PTS the other is "real steel" (IIRC the AFG-1 is the real one).

While there is a difference in the quality of the plastic I have not noticed a difference in the use, reliability or life of the products. The PTS is the Training and Simulation department. I know it is aimed more for Airsoft et-al, but most of the shooting I do on the range is Training or Simulation.

In terms of functionality I couldn't tell a difference between the PTS and real steel - however I do not lift, bro. So maybe someone who is harder on their equipment than I am could tell?!

The PTS version is thinner, flexes, and does not have the "solid" feel of the non-PTS version. IMHO.

To each his own.

I look at PTS the same way I look at..lets say..Food death carousel (you know like at factories and prisons, the food that's on the turning thing that cost $3 for a half sandwich?)

Do I want to take the chance and be cheap to buy that sandwich? (knowing I will regret it later on the ride home where there is no rest stop for miles?)

Or take extra assurance and stop at subway to pay $6 for something I probably wont get food poison from?

But,do what makes your wallet happy (fiancee doesn't agree with this term..I like my wallet filled)

The PTS version I bought (it came in a MagPul box, so it's not a China ripoff) is also thinner, material-wise and somewhat smaller.
