I've been warned about posting political stuff here - just FYI.

I do know that could happen. Yet, if posting something about the Second Amendment is political, then all our posts in this subforum will have to come down :-). In this case I hope that we all see how the Second Amendment is going to survive, and how it's going to fail. And the President is the 'how it will survive', and the purpose of the post: to reassure.

If the paywall is stopping you it's probably a cookie. This works for the WAPO and the NYT. The NYT cookies start with "nyt".

1. Be sure you do NOT have the site you want to access open in any tab. It will reset cookies faster than you can delete them.

2. Delete cookies from that website. (in Chrome that's: Settings > Advanced > Site Settings > Cookies and Site Data > See All Cookies and Site Data. There's a search box at the top right. Search for "washingtonpost". Delete all of the search results.)

3. Chrome: I back out of that last page to the previous page to be sure the changes are saved. Not totally sure that's necessary but I haven't had any problems when doing that and I have had some problems with it re-populating the cookies when I didn't. But not always.

4. Close your browser. When you reopen it you should be able to access the site.

Article in a nutshell:

"Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump -- who said he has a concealed carry permit -- called for the expansion of gun rights Friday, including making those permits applicable nationwide.

In a position paper published on his website Friday afternoon, Trump called for the elimination of gun and magazine bans, labeling them a "total failure."

"Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own," Trump wrote."

All good stuff; concealed carry reciprocity is really a no-brainer. Now, repeal the Hughes Amendment and I'd be a happy camper. :D

The linked article is from 2015. It's nothing new and there's no pending legislation that we need to take action on at this time.

This is a good read: READ this > RULES on HOW to use the 2A Forum

Mr. Trump is on our/your side one. Let's all just make sure he keeps his job, eh?
It should come as no surprise that the forum owner and staff encourage all our member to support pro-gun candidates in every Federal, State and Local election and to support the NRA.

I'm sure our members are well aware what we're up against.
2020 is a pivotal year for our 2A rights, so take nothing for granted.

... And there are many more reasons that we don't want to even imagine a replacement in November.
Members are free to imagine those reasons, but we won't be sliding into general political discussion and the direction of our society on this board. Those topics are banned.
