Well, I kinda own this one....

You need to replumb with Pex and that will all go away.

I once got a frantic call from the missus about the washing machine overflowing. It refused to stop filling. Water was pouring out the top. She did turn off the water when she found it. The good news: that house had the laundry in the garage.

I figured it was the pressure switch. Nope. It was a tiny leak in the hose to the pressure switch. $1.00 worth of vinyl tubing. It cracked right at the clamp that held it to the side of the drum.

...... I ran to the laundry and found that I had not replaced the drain hose when I moved the washing machine back in place! Tried to blame it on the wife-said she should have noticed it-but she was having none of it.........

A Boss move, I will continue to try that every time. Never works but the "discussion" is always worth the price of admit. Joe

First off, it could've been worse...a lot worse. Be grateful it wasn't a toilet.

I'm not a plumber, but a friend of mine is. He told me that there are only three things you need to know about plumbing:

1.) water always runs downhill

2.) pay day every Friday

3.) never bite your fingernails :D

It could have been worse.

You could have called a plumber, had him come out, figure out your problem in two minutes and then bill you $300.

And then, you would have said to him "I'm an attorney, but I don't make $300 for two minutes work."

And then he would have said "Neither did I when I was an attorney."

(Old joke that originally had a brain surgeon, but figured it would fit here. :) )
