I've been searching for a 3913 and can't find one, so I guess I may go with the Sig Sauer 239 40cal since I can find one of them.

What do you guys think?

I owned one and did not care for it. It just never felt right to me. If you've held one, or better yet fired one, and you like it, then go for it. I really like my two P229s (.40 and 357 Sig).

I think they're both great guns, but that the P239 is the only one that I'd want in .40 (sorry goofy S&W Al/Sc-framed 4040). That said, I don't especially care for the .40, tho my .40 P239 was a great gun.

I can get a 229 40 also, both are available.

I had a 229 with the rail and didn't like it.
I like the non rail better.

Thought you were going to snag the NL off Gun Broker?

239's are nice... DA / SA trigger should be smoother than the S&W, but they do weigh a bit more.

Both are top-notch single stacks.

For a Carry Piece the 3913 will work better..
I had a P239SAS 40 that I bought cheap but it was top heavy & didn't carry as well as the tiny smith..
Nothing wrong with SIGs, They make one of the finest made pistols on the market..
I finaly was able to score a 3913NL last weekend to replace the 3913LS I traded 3 years ago on a HK P7M8..
Keep Looking & You'll Find a Nice 3913, There Out There!!

email me, I know where one was in north Georgia, not sure if it is still there but a phone call in the morning will tell you.

I owned a Sig P239 .40 S&W for about two years. It was heavy, thick, short gripped, and expensive. I tote a S&W #908 now.

Oh I forgot, feel free to bid on the 3913NL.

+1 I too owned a P239 and thought it was heavy and top heavy. While I wanted a 3913, I am very pleased with my 3914.

Snag that 3913NL on Gunbroker..
If I didn't already have one I'd drive to Muncie Indiana for that one, It's in better shape than the one I just scored..
You can always get a black grip if you don't like the grey..

Earlier this year, I considered a 239 before deciding on the 3913.

I thought the 3913 had better balance in my hand, and I did not care for the flat, squared front of the grip on the 239. The edge of the 239 grip sat in an uncomfortable spot on the inside of my knuckles. I'd recommend you handle and fire one before buying, in case you run into the same problem. (It's odd that Sig decided to go with the flat front strap on the P239, when the rest of their products have rounded front straps, which are comfortable.)

And in my case, the price difference was significant as well. (~$500+ for a used Sig vs. ~$300 for my used 3913)

I had a 3914 at one time and a Sig 239 in 9mm. The S&W seemed to be wearing more quickly, especially in the frame rail area. Always shot reliably and well though.
The Sig I thought felt a little clumsy in the hand and like all Sigs you have that tall slide to contend with. It also worked reliably and shot very well.
These days I tend to think the tupperware tactical is the way to go and have developed quite a soft spot for the m&P series but if one can't quite go there I would probably wait it out until I found the 3913 between the two you are considering.

While the 239 is a fine pistol, I would look a little harder for a 3913. The 3913 IS THAT GOOD.

My 0.02 Regards 18DAI.

I have a 229r in .40 and while the grip is a little thick and it is a bit heavier than I would have thought for it is still a nice everyday concealed carry pistol.

"I tend to think the tupperware tactical is the way to go"

When God and John Moses Browning got together to develop the semi auto pistol they agree it should be built out of steel. I concour.

I had no trouble finding 3913s and 3914s in varying conditions for sale on-line and in local gun shops.
