Well, looks like it's finally my turn (The thrilling conclusion)

I hope so! My stores have been backing up! :(

You should have seen the look on their faces when I pulled a S&W box out of the free boxes into the plain boxes. One girl said "is that a rifle?" and I said "yeah" and she said "cool!" Lol...

You meet the nicest people with an S&W....

ps. Let me know if you need any help with all that ammo:D

Rifle has been sent.

Just a word of caution. Somebody said I should take two of the free boxes from FedEx and use those to ship the rifle. DO NOT DO THAT. Because the rifle is being sent ground, you can't use those boxes, you'll have to buy some normal boxes from Fedex. It only cost around $4 though, so no big deal.

That is incorrect....

The free white boxes at the Fed Ex shipping locations can be used. The Smith&Wesson return instructions state that you can use the free boxes to place the original box in. The nice thing is, once you get it back from S&W it will be in a nice large, non descript outer box, keep it, put it in the closet and in case it ever needs to go back, you now have the properly sized outside box.

They told me that the free boxes couldn't be used because the shipping label I got was for ground shipping and those boxes couldn't be used for ground shipping, only air shipping.

Here is what S&W states:

"4) Use a sturdy, unmarked fiberboard box to ship the product. Make sure the box is securely sealed. If the return is a handgun via FedEx express service, a FedEx Customer Center will supply an express shipping box upon request. Call (800) 463-3339 for the nearest FedEx location."

Sounds like the free boxes are for handguns and express service.

So do they call you when they send the gun back to you? I want to make sure I'm home when it arrives.

In my experience w/ handgun repairs they just ship it back without notice. You'll get home one day and find a slip stating that you missed the Fedex guy. Once that happens, they will try 2 more times. If you wish, you can call the number on the slip and it will be held at the Fedex depot for you to pick up.

Got it back, but despite the blue springs, it doesn't like they did much else. The extractor looks like it's still in the same position...

Ok, last post. Took the rifle out to the range today.

The Good:

Shot about 200 to 300 rounds without a single FTE, FTL, FTF.

The Bad:

Realized that I almost forgot how much fun this gun is. Looking into tattoo options to commemorate my love for this gun.

The Ugly:

Ten round magazines.

Thanks to everyone and an extra special thanks for Phil for all your help during this trying time.

ROTFLOL! :D Here's my thought on 10 rounders... Fun to load! Not fun to unload! :)

Glad to hear that everything is now in order and your love affair has been restored! :)

Ain't it the truth. :(

I'm subscribing to your vids btw. Still waiting on that post range NcStar review!

I didn't do a video review at the range, my range is too formal to shoot video there..

Basically, I fired 400 rounds through it with the scope on and the result is posted below. The red dot has issues, the elevation adjuster was stripped (came out of the box like that) I called NcStar and they are mailing me out a new adjuster assembly. Once that's back in, I will get the red dot sighted in.

Of course it's in the same position. S&W didn't change the bolt, so the extraction location is unchanged. Maybe (maybe not) a new design, but I've not seen an "before" and "after" contractor comparison. Provably because our extractors are hidden in the grass.
