They had a company directive to take down ALL AR-15s and they were rearranging the shelves to make it look 'normal' and cover the big gap in the selection of guns.

From what I've read, Dick's owns Field & Stream. I wouldn't shop at either.

The owner, whose father founded Dick's in the late 1940's, has betrayed gun owners before and is doing more in the wake of this latest school shooting. He chose to follow the expedient PC course.

Sporting goods stores with his prices and selection are not really very good gun stores. They should probably stick to selling stuff for golf and tennis and such.
 
I was in AIM surplus on Wed. and their AR's were in prominent display with their phones ringing off the hook it seemed. Iv'e dealt with them a lot since they are so close. They are good people.
 
I'm a member of BASS, and Dick's is a big sponsor for them. I sent them a note this morning telling them I would not renew my membership if they continue to betray outdoors folks by being aligned with Dick's.

Heck around here the most expensive place to buy a gun are usually the big box sporting good stores.................................. only if they have a "SALE" on something do they get close to LGS prices!!!

I recently heard that Dick's didn't actually stop selling ARs the last time they made this proclamation (After Newtown, I think), or else they stopped for a bit and then quietly started back up.
I don't shop at either, anyone know for sure?
 
We don't have a Dick's for about two hours north or south of here. Last time I was in the one in suburbs of the top five (depends on which recent year) most dangerous cities in America, didn't see any AR's. Plenty of .223/5.56 ammo, though. We have an Academy locally. After Newtown, they pulled AR's from the shelves, and put them back in six months. Going to a gun show near the Academy today, and gonna stop by to check . . .
