And I thought I was cool because I shave with a Remington.

th

Nice gun, by the way.

My barber passed about 5yrs ago. His customers were mostly
older guys and they were all hunting & fishing guys. His shop
was a trading post for hunting & fishing gear. I bought a lot of
guns there. I also got a lot of leads there for guns that were for
sale by other people in town. I miss that place & the Barber. Now
I get my hair cut in another old time barber shop but the crowd
there is all football and sports, 24/7/365. RA-RA-RA, no guns or
fishing poles there.

Win 37s in 12&16g are fairly common around these parts. The
20s & 410s are like gold. They usually don't last a day on the
rack in the shops. The bring more than H&R, IJ and Stevens/Sav
but even those are sought after in 20&410g. I talking about the
older model guns that were built on small frames. When new the
gauges all cost the same. Not to many bought small guage guns
because they thought they were getting more for their money
with 12 or 16g. In my area you won't find many guns that are
not Full choke either and the longer the barrel the better. The
long toms are in high demand too.

a buddy of mine read me some stuff last night from the blue book. seems they were all full chokes except the youth model which had a 26" Mod barrel. the red letter 28 ga prices are WAY up there. lee

My first shotgun was a model 37 "red letter" in .410. One of many regrets in life was trading it off. Now they are "collectors items", and command $400 price tags. But I still keep looking for a decent condition one, I'll probably find one eventually.

I too buy guns at my barbershop, it's not a gun store, but the guys swap, buy and sell guns and fishing stuff there. My most recent purchase was a S&W 4506-1. Before that, a Remington model 41 in .35 Remington, made in 1940!!

Best Regards, Les
