does the name wetmore inscribed on the topstrap of a da32 4th model have any significance? wish i could post pictures but my camera is gone on vacation with children. thanks for any info.

It would be almost impossible to track the owner of this gun by last name only. It is unlikely that this caliber would have been associated with any significant military or law enforcement individual. You could request a factory letter, but most S&Ws went to distributors. There is an off-chance it could have been shipped to an individual, but it will cost you $50 to find out.

Thank you for the response. I bought this last weekend at lgs for 275. This gun is an honest 98%. Too cool to pass up although these are not my main interest. I thought "wetmore" may be an edition or variation that someone may have heard of. For me researching and studying a new find is half the fun. Again, thanks for the response.
