Hello everyone. I am a gun newbie. I would like to know what is the difference between S&W and m&p? S&W seems to have more revolvers while m&p has more semi auto hand guns. There is a $200 price difference between the brands for similar handguns, why? Thanks for the help.

The space... :D

S&W makes the M&P line, which include semis, revolvers, and rifles. The prices vary because of the different calibers, demand, costs to produce, etc.

Smith & Wesson is the brand.
M&P is a product line made by S&W.

M&P pistols are less expensive than revolvers & 1911's partly because the frames are plastic & cheaper to produce.
Cheaper to build = cheaper to buy.
