What brand name products do you purchase over the generic

That Sriracha is our go to hot sauce here. I've mixed it with sweet pickle relish to make my own hot relish for hot dogs (Hebrew National). But this Blair's is nearby as an ingredient only. Of course they have different degrees of hot, but for a pot of chili, only a couple drops of this is plenty. I think their Death Sauce is actually edible on an egg maybe, but used sparingly.
The Hebrew National wieners are my name brand musts.
Heinz anything

Budweiser . . .

(edit: I will confess though, that in college, we regularly partook of "Beer," in a plain white can, later sold in a plain brown can. My experience was that "Light Beer" was better than "Beer," but at $1.19 a six pack, any port in a storm . . . )

Depends.
I prefer the Walmart Oatmeal.
Love me some Traders Joes Kentuck Generic Bourbon.
Recently bought some Military Commissary Generic Canola oil.
And I hate Coupons.
They are are No. 8 on the Top Ten Reasons Hand Grenades
are Illegal.

Never use coupons because we never buy brand names. What makes brand names better? It's mostly advertising, which is a form of indoctrination, don't ya know?

John

"Great Value" generic off-brand products are the the ones that make brand names better.

So, to answer the question, the brand name products that I buy are those that compete with GV products.

Also, any product that is made by 3M is what I buy. None of their competitors come even close.

I find that some generic stuff is OK - even the same as brand name - just private labeled, but when it comes to some things like ketchup, Coca-Cola, snack foods, the name brand stuff is just better. Get them at discounted or sale prices and at least enjoy them. I have always said...... I'd rather eat the real deal a few times a month than the vial tasting substitute every day.

I made a Cheesecake a few days ago and I was asked by a friend last night why I did not buy the cream cheese at Restaurant Supply. I responded, because I use the Philadelphia Whipped Cream Cheese and that's why it tastes so good! Substitutes at less money just don't cut it!

The exception sometimes is Costco's Kirkland brand which is sometimes made by the big Company's that produce the expensive name brand items. They just get it private labeled.

Brand names? Not to many. Most generics are good. I am sure there is some brands we buy. Someone mentioned Kleenex:), we do buy that,

I was behind a woman in the express lane at the grocery store that had the correct number of items, but then pulled out 6 inches of coupons to start sorting through! Then to top it off, pulled a gallon pickle jar of change out of her tote bag to pay!

A real life example of what would have been a Justifiable Homicide and why one should not carry a flat sap on their person. But once one reaches this stage of incompetence, I am not sure a good sapping would help them.

I have no doubt my ex still fishes around in her purse for a checkbook and her coupons lol
