Wonder what cleaners work best for the 15-22. Is there any difference in cleaners for a rimfire than a centerfire?

been using wd40 for cleaning with a microfiber cloth and oiling up with birchwood gun oil after letting it dry up. Been working great for me

IMHO: MPro7

* Cuts/Cleans Carbon extremely well

i use the same practice and im well over 16,500 rds threw mine

Hoppe's 9, but if WD40 is doing the trick, I may try that!

just careful with the wd40, its good for cleaning but does not lubricate. You have to finish up with some gun oil after it evaporates.

I have been using Ed's Red on all my firearms since I found it on the old FIDO net gun echo back in the 80s. I also use it for cleaning engine parts and in place of penetrating oils. At under $15 per gallon why not?

:) Try brake cleaner it's cheap and does a good job. There is a lot of good oils. I remember what a very good gunsmith told me. "The only oil wasted is what drips off your elbow" Don

Break cleaner can strip some finishes... wd40 and a air hose turn a cleaning job into a 2 min. thing hose it down in wd40 and blow out all the grim and grit the apply clp to all parts that need lube(pretty much anything that moves or gets touched by something that moves) and reassemble.. its that quick and easy...

If you do have any carbon build up a brass brush while the wd40 is still on it will break it free and the air hose will remove it....

M-Pro 7 gun cleaner and M-Pro 7 gun oil LPX. I just switched to the new LPX from their previous CLP. I use M-Pro for all of my guns.

Remoil spray is cheap at Wallyworld. I use that to clean along with compressed air and brushes. Mpro7, Clp, or Hoppes to lightly lube where required.
