What did you shoot in the last couple of days?

Today, really this morning at the local indoor range, two Colt Single Action Army revolvers, both in 45Colt, one 4 3/4" and the other & 7 1/2" barrels. And my standard "lets take a break," Walther PP Sport in 22lr. Miss Ugly, and ugly as she may be, she is certainly fun to shoot and now and then her target grouping impress the boys!

Today I took My favorite pistol and 3 others to the range.

My favorite boringly reliable polymer 9mm, FNS 9

Found out today that it looks like the PD that AIM Surplus got these from had the sights regulated for 147gr ammo. If you have one that is shooting a little low with 115-124gr then try some 147gr.

My RIA 1911 frame with a Marvel upper. Well, I should have changed out the recoil spring on it before bringing it out. Marvel's Unit 2 is set up for hi-vel ammo and they make springs to set it up for standard velocity stuff. The hi-vel I brought with me was **** and would not work in either of the .22s I brought today. I will try it in my M18 next trip and see if I can get rid of it that way. If not, into the trash it goes.

The other .22 was my new Ruger LCPII

It gave me fits with the Federal Spitfire hi-vel I brought along so I went back up front and bought a box of Mini-Mags and proceeded to have 100 rounds of fun with a tiny pocket pistol. Need to buy more Mini-Mags. Oh yes, paint the front sight if you get one of these. You will thank yourself if you do, and curse yourself if you don't. I used a layer of white and two layers of fluorescent yellow.

Last was actually the most fun of the day, and the most expensive to shoot since I do not reload. Took my 4in Model 29-3 with me and ran a half box of Fiocche 200gr SJHP .44 Special through it. The Fiocchi does not have a good reputation for expansion, but what I have read about it from Fiocche says that it is geared more towards penetration than expansion. They call it a good hog round. I saw a vid on Youtube that showed 32 inches of penetration in ballistic gel with little to no expansion of the bullet. Looks like it would make a good bear round (like I would ever need it for that). It was about the cheapest factory load for .44 Special that I could find at the time.

All in all a good day at the range, even with the .22 ammo glitches. I shall end this with a pic of my range case already prepped for the next trip.

Today, went to the range and fired my 1917 S&W, a .32 PPK, and a .22 High Standard HD Military. Had a great time and all were accurate. Limited on the 1917 because I didn't have many clips. Also. loading the clips was for me challenging.

A Uberti Bisley Single Action, 44S&W Special, with
5-1/2" Bbl for perfect balance. Other Revolvers in
my Range Bag were involved too.

Shot with my Reload for plinking; 240gr Lead
RNFP / 5.0grs Alliant Red Dot / CCI LP #300 /
Winchester Brass / FPS 800?

These days, strictly my carry guns. M&P Shield 9mm and 45acp, Model 49 snub.

Last Saturday I shot 2 round of trap and one round of Skeet with my 20 gage Beretta 686. Then Sunday I shot 2 rounds of Trap and 2 rounds of Skeet with my 12 gage Beretta 686.

Yeah, I am a Gun Nut. Started busting clays in May 2018 and since that time have acquired a collection of clay busting shotguns. BTW as a target shooter going back many years I have to say that shooting at moving targets is a lot more fun than punching paper.

My last couple trips to the range have ended up costing me a fair bit of money :o.

Last week my son and I each took a 9mm and a .45 to the range, and we shot a few boxes. For me, it was an Armscor High Standard 1911 in .45, a Daewoo DP-51 in 9mm. For him, it was an ATI USGI 1911 in .45, and a Sig P226 DAK.

Upon getting home, we couldn't find the .45 brush or jag, so we ended up going out to get another. While window shopping, I got hit by a strong case of "hey, why not?", and took home a pair of matching, LNIB Para Experts in .45. :D

Have since taken them, and they do shoot nice. And yep, the cleaning kit works in them too!

You do know, that it did not happen if you don't give photographic evidence :) ?

last 5 days

Being unemployed, I have the opportunity to shoot my butt off. In the last 5 days I have been crushing some 22lr and shooting guns I bought broken (for next to nothing) and repaired.

Stole this new at a gunshow. LOVE this thing. Has since had bigger grips to fit my paws.

Put some new clothes on her. Had to run a few clips.

2 old Rubys in 32 ACP. both over 100 years. What fun.
Bullldog 44spl broken, fixed and shimmed, runs like a Swiss watch.
22/45 Mk II, Put optics on it, tack driver, rekindled my love affair.
American Arms Makarov clone in 9mm, heavy trigger but breaks like a piece of glass.
H&R 732 in 32 long. Bought to pull the guts and repair the one with 4 inch barrel, NOT, didn't even look at it till I got home. Super clean, shoots like a dream.
Last but not least my JC Higgins 103-16. $43 out the door on GB, put a $20 Simmons on it.

35 yards from a bag.

M-1 Garand

Put 24 rounds (3 clips) yesterday through this CMP Garand I bought 25 years ago. It was one of the Danish returns with the VAR barrel.

At 50 yards shot an eight-round 1 inch group from the bench. Not enough time to go over to the 100 yard range. Maybe next time.

Sunday I spent a few hours setting up and zeroing a set of MVA sights on my Remington Rolling Block in 40-65. A Rough and Ready rear and a Beech Front.

Brought out the bottom feeders in the rainy weather today .....Hey...they're still fun to shoot.
