What do folks think of Canik?

They are good shooting pistols, but I just can’t do Turkish firearms. Too each their own. For me, I’m in a position in my career and life, where the price of guns isn’t any determining factor.

If we are going to compare a Hi-Point to anything it should be the HK VP70Z.

My brother just won a higher end Canik in a raffle. I don't know if he's going to keep it or trade it away without firing a shot. If he keeps it I'd like to give it some trigger time.

I have a TP9V2, and if I'm totally honest, I probably shoot it better than any other semiauto I own. I don't know why. I don't love the thing, but all my Turkish made guns are equal to, or better, than the guns they are basically clones of. That includes Sar, K2 45(sort of a larger Cz 75), Sar 2000(CZ 75 clone), Sar CM9 Gen 2(Tanfoglio polymer witness had a baby with a CZ P07) Sar sr 38 .357 revolver(pretty close 586 clone, and Girsan MC9T, (an S&W M&P clone, according to what I've read). Not a bad one in the bunch. Machine work is damn good, and the CM9 G2 is a fantastic gun and a crazy bargain, as was the MC9 T when it was discontinued in the form I bought it in. $350 for a RDS equipped, mag welled, target pistol with 3 mags? Oh yeah.
